Can I recycle the packaging used for cold shipped items?
Yes! We pack your cold items carefully to make sure they arrive safely and in their best condition. Many of the packaging materials we use are made from recycled content that you can recycle right back. Here’s what you need to know about the types of packaging that might arrive in your box:
Shipping box & tape: Curbside recyclable & made from 100% recycled content
Interior box dividers: Curbside recyclable & made from 100% recycled content
Insulated liners: Curbside recyclable & made from 97% recycled content
Void fill (crinkle paper): Curbside recyclable & made from 100% recycled content
Plastic bags: Drop-off recyclable (check the rules for your area) & made from up to 30% recycled content
Insulated bags: Drop-off recyclable (check the rules for your area) & made from up to 30% recycled content
Ice packs: Pour the gel down your drain or use it as plant food, then the plastic film around it is drop-off recyclable

At this time, not all members have access to cold shipped items like produce, dairy, and deli items—but we’re working hard to open this option up to all members as soon as we can. Look out for updates in your email or on our social media channels.
Note: Some members may receive a frozen order with a silver liner as part of a test to improve our frozen shipments. This packaging is also curbside recyclable!
