Check-in Procedure

Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates and that all visas (if required) are obtained. Print or have digital copies of your flight confirmation, booking reference, and any required travel documents. Download your airline's mobile app to save your boarding pass and track flight status. Verify entry requirements for your destination country at least 2 weeks before departure.

Most airlines allow online check-in 24 hours before departure through their website or mobile app. Online check-in saves time at the airport and allows you to select your seat, add baggage, and receive your boarding pass digitally. Print your boarding pass or have it ready on your phone. If you have baggage to check, you may still need to visit the counter even with online check-in.

We recommend arriving at the airport 2-3 hours before an international flight and 1-2 hours before a domestic flight. This allows time for parking, security screening, and potential queues at check-in and boarding. For flights departing early in the morning, arrive even earlier to avoid rush hour traffic and ensure you have sufficient buffer time.

Proceed to the check-in counters or self-service baggage drop if available. Present your passport and boarding pass to the agent or scan them at the kiosk. Your checked bags will be weighed, tagged, and sent to be loaded onto your aircraft. Confirm that the baggage tags display your correct destination airport code. Keep your baggage receipt if provided.

After check-in, proceed to security screening. Have your boarding pass and passport ready for inspection. Remove shoes, belts, and light jackets, and place electronics larger than a phone in a bin. Place your quart-sized liquids bag in the bin as well. Proceed through the scanner and collect your belongings on the other side. Allow 20-30 minutes for security screening during peak times.

If traveling internationally, you may need to clear passport control before boarding. Have your passport, visa (if required), return/onward flight confirmation, and accommodation details ready. Be prepared to answer questions about your trip purpose, duration, and accommodation. Immigration processing times vary by airport and time of day.

Proceed to your gate (displayed on airport monitors) 20-30 minutes before boarding. Listen for boarding announcements, as they typically call passengers by rows or class. Have your boarding pass ready for scanning. Boarding may be done in multiple stages (first class, families with children, then by row). Keep your boarding pass until you deplane, as it may be collected during flight or at arrival.

If you have a tight connection, inform a gate agent immediately. Airlines will make best efforts to facilitate connections. Passengers with disabilities or mobility concerns should inform the airline before check-in; assistance is available for navigation and boarding. Unaccompanied minors, pregnant passengers, and other special situations require advance communication with the airline.
