Annual Leave — FAQs Category: Time Off Last updated: September 2026 Owner: People Operations Can I cancel my annual leave once it's booked? If the leave date is in the future, you can cancel it yourself directly in the HR system — no need to contact People Ops. If the leave date has already passed or started, your manager needs to action the cancellation, as it may affect payroll and attendance records. How much notice do I need to give for annual leave? We ask for at least 2 weeks' notice for leave of 3 days or more. For single-day requests, please give at least 48 hours' notice where possible. What happens if my manager is unavailable to approve my request? If your manager is out of office, requests can be approved by their delegated approver. If you're unsure who that is, check the org chart in the HR system or ask in this channel and we'll point you in the right direction. Can I carry over unused annual leave into the next year? Yes — up to 5 days can be carried over into the new leave year. Any unused days beyond that are forfeited unless otherwise agreed with your manager and People Ops. Who do I contact if I think my leave balance is wrong? Reach out to People Ops directly with your query and we'll review your balance and get back to you within our standard SLA. This article is for general guidance. Country-specific entitlements may vary — check your local addendum or contact People Ops for details specific to your location.
